This is old, but I think it is one of the coolest pages I’ve seen on the internet. This guy finds antique cameras that still contain undeveloped film–dating back to the 1920’s or 1930’s in some cases–and he develops them and posts them online with some thoughtful commentary. Some of these photos really drive home how short life is… when I see a couple in their 20’s taking photographs of each other at the park on a nice fall day, knowing that both of them have possibly passed away without ever viewing those photos, it makes me think!
For work, they sent me to the Eglin AFB area for a couple of days. This is seriously the closest room I could get to where I needed to be!
I got a little antsy getting outside after it launched… I thought it would be visible quicker.
A while back I noticed that the London Symphony Orchestra would be in Daytona for the Florida International Festival performing Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. I’ve wanted to see that performed live for years, and to have the LSO performing it just up the road was just more than I could have hoped for. So I grabbed a couple of tickets for Allison and myself–second row, just right of center–and we went to the concert.
So some of my friends coerced me into going to the Borders release party–the “Grand Hallows Ball”, as they called it–for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (I ordered mine on Amazon precisely so that I could avoid this kind of chaos). I usually avoid trying to be “that guy”… you know, the guy who goes to the midnight release party for a Harry Potter book dressed as Dobby the House Elf.
The handsome Dementor fellow to my right is my buddy, Ben. We got a lot of attention from the kids, which was fun. We posed for a ton of photos with people of all ages.
